In Memoriam

Before Dalmata, Maloy & Burke, LLP, we were Delorezo, Grasso & Dalmata, LLP

DMB Legal wants to honor past attorneys we had the privilege of working with. The legal community has been forever changed by the invaluable contributions of these departed legal professionals. They will be remembered for their passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to justice. Let us cherish their legacies as we continue to build upon the solid foundation they established.

Attorney Nicholas J. Grasso

Attorney Nicholas J. Grasso

Mr. Grasso began practicing law with his uncle in 1947 at the firm of Grasso & Grasso. Shortly thereafter, he opened his own firm in 1952. Mr. Grasso’s practice has always been a general practice office, primarily focusing on litigation matters, more particularly; ensuring clients are properly compensated for their losses following a personal injury.

Throughout Mr. Grasso’s 70-plus years of practice, he acquired a reputation for being a tenacious advocate for his clients, while also earning the respect and admiration of his peers.

He also served the local community as an attorney for both the Mohonasen School District and Shalmont School District as they were developed and opened. He worked with the Town of Rotterdam to establish their water district among many other local civic projects.

Mr. Grasso was profiled among several other notable attorneys in a publication of the Historical Society of the New York Courts County Legal History; Schenectady County, authored by Judge Mark L. Powers.

He then attended Albany Law School, graduating in 1977 and was admitted to the Bar in 1978.

He joined his father as a parter in the law firm Grasso, Rodriquez, Putoriti & Grasso, and enjoyed working all faces of plantiff’s law, especially trial work.

He enjoyed bicycling, cooking and photography. His most joyful moments were spent with his sons Nicholas and Patrick.

Attorney Tom DeLorenzo

Attorney Thomas DeLorenzo

Attorney Tom DeLorenzo practiced law in the Capital District for over 55 years. He was known for his professionalism and extensive experience in cases involving personal injury, employment law, family law, divorce, and real estate. When clients came to him for assistance, he was diligent to spend the amount of time that is necessary to meet all of their needs.

This includes educating them about the law related to the case, and providing an overview of the process that should take place. Even when cases are complex and take a lengthy period of time, Attorney DeLorenzo supported his clients through the entirety, showing care and professionalism in every situation.

Mr. DeLorenzo practiced law for residents from New York City to Buffalo, having litigated cases in nearly every court in the Capital Region. He has also tried cases in many out-of-state courts.

He chose to focus primarily on personal injury law because he enjoyed fighting against big corporations and insurance companies who tried to take advantage of victims. Thomas E. DeLorenzo believed he provided the best legal services, not only because he never gave up on a case, but also because he was very compassionate about his work and his clients.

Mr. DeLorenzo enjoyed skiing, family gatherings, baseball games, reading John Grisham, and spending time in St. Martin.
